About Kathy Russell
My work is a mixture of my background. I grew up drawing and painting. In the 1980's I purchased my first camera and was hooked. I started out taking photos of friends that were in bands in Washington D.C. A number of my photos were used for albums. I was honored to have Barnes & Noble use one image as a book's back cover. My greatest love has always been horses, domestic animals, wildlife and birds. I retired and moved to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I now had the time to really pursue my passion. Only using a camera to shoot the amazing wildlife in this area. My work is a combination of my photography and painting. I'm always learning and constantly changing my editing. I learned photography from trial and error. ...

Kathy, a lovely portrayal of the lemur, and so pleasing that it is being looked after.
Kathy Russell replied:
Thank you very much Margaret! It's sad to see so many animals that should be living their lives in the wild, but they are cared for very well there.
